India’s Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled all the Class 10 board exams while the Class 12 board examination scheduled for March 7 has been postponed. Revised dates will be announced later.
According to the circular issued by the CBSE on March 5, 2026, the mode of declaration of results for Class 10 candidates in the Middle East would be notified separately in due course.
Regarding the remaining Class 12 board exams, the CBSE said it would review the situation on Saturday, March 7, 2026 and issue appropriate directions regarding examinations scheduled from Monday, March 9, 2026 onwards.
After a critical review of the prevailing tensions in parts of the Middle East (Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE), the Board has taken the following decisions:
- Class 10 Examinations
a) All examinations scheduled from 07.03.2026 to 11.03.2026 stand cancelled.
b) Examinations scheduled on 02.03.2026, 05.03.2026, and 06.03.2026, which was earlier postponed, shall also stand cancelled.
c) The mode of declaration of results for Class 10 candidates in the Middle East will be notified separately in due course. - Class 12 Examinations
a) The examination scheduled on Saturday, March 7, 2026 has been postponed. Revised dates will be announced later.
b) The Board will review the situation on Saturday, March 7, 2026 and issue appropriate directions regarding examinations scheduled from Monday, 09 March 2026 onwards.
c) All Class XII students are advised to remain in close contact with their schools and follow official announcements carefully.
The CBSE’s decisions regarding the Board Exams have been taken amid missile and drone attacks from Iran against several Gulf countries.
